X Factor going on the road to Vegas

X Factor going on the road to VegasStep right up. Simon Cowell is taking his fabulous UK talent show all the way to Vegas.

If The X Factor wasn’t big enough now, Cowell plans to make it the biggest show on earth, according to the UK Sun newspaper.

The top-earning US television star and billionaire partner of Sir Philip Green will stage two editions of The X Factor in Las Vegas with contestants from everywhere. The pair, who were reported in talks several months ago, told the newspaper: “The plan is to take it to Vegas, I’m not going to tell you with who, but the CEO of the venue is coming to see us next week. We’ll have a permanent place, likely to be Caesars Palace. The home of X Factor – live from Las Vegas!”

Sir Philip mentioned the show being streamed via pay per view on the internet, adding: “We’ll have a store. And it’ll all be online. You have 20, 30, 40 million people tuning in twice a week. You bring two or three hundred million viewers to a venue – off we go! It’s taking it up a peg. The rest of the world is Part Two.”

Cowell said he was inspired to take the show on the road by Formula One’s Bernie Ecclestone. “I like the model of what Bernie Ecclestone has done. The Singapore race is as good as the French race is as good as the English race,” he said.
