Tennis star Boris Becker has denied in a new interview that he fathered his daughter in a broom cupboard - but says it happened on the stairs.
Boris, who won Wimbledon three times, was accused of having sex with Russian model Angela Ermakova in a broom cupboard in a restaurant in 1999.
However, he has finally spoken about the incident, which resulted in the birth of his daughter Anna, and said it actually happened on the stairs of the restaurant.
He told Piers Morgan during his new ITV show Piers Morgan: Life Stories that he was alone at the top London restaurant Nobu after announcing his retirement and arguing with wife Barbara when Angela gave him “a look”.
He said: “There are certain looks that are not looks asking you for tea in the afternoon.”
Piers then asked the tennis legend if he really did have sex in the broom cupboard like it was claimed.
He replied: “That’s one of those stories that isn’t true. It actually happened on the stairs between the bathrooms so there was no broom cupboard. I don’t know if that’s better.
“It was one of those moments that happened in a fluke and you don’t think about it before and you certainly forget about it after. What we shouldn’t forget is, 10 years later, I have a beautiful daughter.”
