Comedian Ricky Gervais has sent an electronic Christmas card to his fans stating he has ‘done nothing’ for charity this year.

The 48-year-old Extras star sent out the card featuring a picture of his Flanimals characters with the message via an email newsletter.

He said: “Merry Christmas indeed.

“Yes, it’s that time of year again when people do loads of things for charity and at the same time, put their gigs on sale and release autobiographies.

“Well, not me. I’ve done nothing for charity. Just buy my autobiography. Just realised I haven’t done one of them either.

“Buy something. Merry Xmas again.”
