Janet Jackson yesterday blamed Dr Conrad Murray for her brother Michael’s death – and demanded he be barred from practising medicine.

Toxicology results showed that the King of Pop had lethal amounts of propofol, a powerful sedative typically used in operating rooms, in his bloodstream when he died.

In her first interview about her superstar brother’s death, Janet made it clear that she blames Jacko’s private physician, Dr Conrad Murray, for his death.

“He [Murray] was the one that was administering… I think he is responsible.”

Asked whether she thought the medic should be allowed to continue practising medicine, she said: “No I don’t. Not at all. So this could happen to someone else? Another family? Uh-uh.”

Janet has not spoken since her brother’s death almost five months ago, and admitted she needed to keep out of the spotlight to battle with her grief.

“It’s been a tough year,” she said. “You have your days where it’s just really – it’s hard to believe. And a day doesn’t go by that I don’t think about him.”

She recalled hearing the news that her brother had collapsed on 25 June.

She said: “I was at my house in New York… And I get a call… [my assistant] said, ‘Your brother’s been taken to the hospital. It’s on CNN right now’.

“I called everyone… I told them to call me when they got to the hospital. And I remember thinking nobody’s calling me back, so I tried calling again, and that’s how I found out that he was no longer… I couldn’t believe it.”

She added that she and the entire Jackson family were in a state of disbelief.

“It just didn’t ring true to me. It felt like a dream,” she said. “It’s still so difficult for me to believe.”
