Hugh Jackman, who upstaged Australia’s leader at UN climate change talks, received an unusual challenge.
The Wolverine star was introduced as a muscle man who could bench-press 300 pounds just before he made a speech where he vowed to use his voice to help those in developing countries like Ethiopia.
An embarrassed Jackman was said to tell the audience that he could not really lift 300 pounds and that “you shouldn’t believe everything you see on the net”.
He was said to then discuss how shyness made it hard for him to speak publicly but that being named the sexiest man in the world changed things.
When he was later asked by the Australian media contingent whether or not he could bench-press the 300, the dapper star looked sideways before suggesting that “back in the day” 350 pounds was in fact possible.
