Friends of actress Katie Holmes are claiming she has become “estranged” from them following her marriage to Tom Cruise.
The 30-year-old former Dawson’s Creek star married Cruise, 47, two years ago, and friends say she has cut herself off from her old pals.
A pal of the star said: “Since tying the knot with Tom, she’s become estranged from all of her close friends and she doesn’t even make excuses for it.
“She’s become very cold. The only friends she talks to are Tom’s Scientology buddies, who are now her friends as well.
“She’s even changed her cellphone number because she is tired of people calling and saying: ‘Where have you been?’ Why haven’t you called me back?’”
This is sad news indeed.
Estrangement from former social circles is the classic hallmark sign of somebody getting sucked into a cult.
I had hopes that Katie would be able to withstand the brainwash, in particularly after the news that she sent Suri to Catholic school - inwardly yelling Run Katie, Run!
But this is bad news. Of course, there could be other reasons, or it’s just untrue gossip. But I fear the worst.
