Comedian Russell Brand has said he found the prank call scandal with Andrew Sachs “funny”.
Brand, 34, ended up resigning from his BBC Radio 2 show after making “inappropriate” calls to the Fawlty Towers star with guest Jonathan Ross.
Talking about the incident at his new DVD signing, he said: “I apologise for the thing I did wrong to the person I did it to but the whole subsequent scandal was funny.”
He added: “It is funny I think. It’s just rhubarb and guff.”
Brand then went on to joke that he had really wanted to speak to the actor during the prank call.
He said: “It would’ve been nice if he had answered his phone. No-one ever mentions that side of it. Everyone mentions me, but is it that hard to pick up your phone?”
