Irish hunk Colin Farrell has confirmed he is about to be a father for the second time.
Farrell confirmed at the Toronto Film Festival on Saturday evening that he and girlfriend Alicja Bachleda were expecting their first child together.
Rumours have swirled for some time that the star was about to be a daddy again after Alicja was seen with what appeared to be a clear baby bump.
Farrell confirmed it with a simple ‘Yes’ when asked by reporters if the baby news was for real.
Farrell, 33, and the Polish actress, 26, began dating earlier this year.
This will be the second child for the Irish star. He has a five-year-old son, James, with his ex, model Kim Bordenave.
Farrell is in Toronto promoting his film Triage, about a war photographer who returns from Kurdistan, exhausted from battle and haunted by a missing friend.
Farrell had to lose 40 pounds to play Mark, the war photographer who is burned out by his experiences. He found the diet difficult.
“It was a drag. It’s boring. Just boring, especially when he [pointing to the film's director Danis Tanovic] was putting sandwiches in my face every day on the set.”
Farrell said he had to be aware of the addictive aspects of weight loss, as well.
“I could feel it,” he says. “I could have lost probably 10 or 15 pounds more.” Asked about his diet, he said: “A lot of cigarettes and black coffee involved.”
