Ashlee Simpson is reportedly planning an album of Michael Jackson covers.

The young star’s manager dad Joe is already trying to sell the idea of the “concept” album that he hopes will revive the new mum’s career.

“Joe Simpson, never one to miss an opportunity, is trying to revive Ashlee Simpson’s record career by pitching a concept album on which Ashlee would record songs of Michael Jackson,” a report insisted.

The star has never been able to overturn the damage done to her musical career when she was caught out miming on U.S. TV - and footage of her real singing without tapes was harshly panned by critics.
