Amanda Holden’s cruel imitation of Susan Boyle

Amanda Holden's cruel imitation of Susan BoyleAmanda Holden transformed herself into a Susan Boyle lookalike and performed a cruel imitation of the star.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge wore a wig, gold dress and facial hair when appearing on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man show.

Holden, who was surprisingly cruel, also joked about Susan’s looks and said she looked like a man.

She said: “I think (Susan) looks a bit like Eddie Large facially, or Piers Morgan with a wig.

“That’s obviously why she loved him, because they always say you fall in love with someone you end up looking like.”

She also said that she thought Susan’s stint in The Priory was actually more of a holiday.

She said: “She was only there for a week, I tell you what it was… I don’t know this officially, but I would say it was more of a little holiday, because where else could she go apart from prison where she wasn’t going to get hassled.

“Nowhere, so The Priory, it’s the same thing. To be frank, the only time I worried about her mental health was when she confessed to fancying Piers Morgan.”

  1. For a Britain’s Got Talent judge to mock a contestant in this manner is unethical and abusive. The video can be viewed on YouTube. It is worse than one can imagine, especially if you are a fan of Susan Boyle. Please write to CBS and BGT and ask them to rethink their contracts with Amanda Holden.

  3. Amanda, I didn’t want to believe this. It didn’t seem to me you could be so cruel, esp to someone who was on a show where you were a judge. I thought there would be ethic and moral guidelines for such a job, plus being a public figure should caution you to show respect. It’s especially hurtful to those of us who adore Susan boyle. She is a real lady, one we can all emulate. I only hope you grow out of this need to be hurtful.

  4. Amanda, what you did to Susan on the “chatty man” show was VILE! It was cruel, vindictive and crude. In your position as a judge on BGT, you crossed a moral and ethical line in trashing a former contestant. I hope you lose your contract with BGT..you certainly deserve to!!!

  5. Ms. Holden, I cannot believe a person could be as cruel and vile as you have been in ridiculing Susan Boyle. Are you so insecure that you have to mock a perfectly nice, perfectly sweet, innocent lady who has never in her life done anything to harm you or anyone else? You are a mean, petty, overly ambitious female and I hope you get what’s coming to you. Shame on you - I don’t know how you sleep at night!

  6. In her News of the World column, Amanda issued a half-baked apology before the Carr show aired - thinking that would satisfy Susan’s fans. However, the videoclip, now on Utube, is far worse than any of us could have imagined.

I see no way for her to recover now. It’s impossible for her to “defend the indefensible.”

  7. Disgusting repugnant portrayal of Susan. I hope the well earned repercussion is severe.

  8. Isn’t this the same judge who, at Susan Boyle’s BGT audition in January in Glasgow, suggested Susan perform a Britney Spears song and do a little dance?? Clearly Amanda saw Susan as a comedy act—–and apparently she still holds that opinion. Fortunately for the world, Susan had the courage to defy this one of the judges who would decide her fate that day—-and she went with the number she had prepared, instead. Her glorious rendition of “I Dreamed A Dream” will be remembered, written about, and discussed for years to come. I suppose, then, we shouldn’t be surprised that this same BGT judge would think nothing of taking part in a cruel parody of Susan Boyle, even though she heaped praise on Susan’s every performance during the contest. Further proof of Holden’s insincerity was when she was quoted a short while after the audition aired claiming she had a difficult time remembering who Susan Boyle was. I’m hoping my memory of Amanda Holden is similarly weak—and that soon I will have no memory of ever seeing her. We should all be so fortunate!

  9. So what exactly is Amanda Holden’s talent? Apparently will stoop to anything to make a little money, get a little publicity. She’s not even in Susan’s league. Susan has more class and professionalism in her little finger…

  10. The good thing about what she did is that instead of ridiculing Susan Boyle, she ridiculed herself and proved to everyone what a phoney and shallow person she is.
It’s hard to imagine she’ll be able to keep her job. No one will ever have any respect for her again.
If you need further truth of what a hypocrite she is, watch this video of her talking about bullies.

  11. Susan Boyle has many things Amanda lacks. Character, class a beautiful singing voice, and NATURAL beauty inside and out.I never heard of Amanda Holden before Susan Boyle sang on BGT, now I wish never to hear from or see her again.Never will I tune in to CBS ever again as long as this person is employed there.

  12. Saw that show - Amanda Holden was absolutely disgusting. How on earth could she do a thing like that - being a judge of BGT and knowing of Susan’s past, etc, etc… I do not think she will be able to continue judging ever again.

  13. For AH to ridicule Susan Boyle in such a vulgar broad way(too bad it wasn’t even funny) shows AH’s bad taste, lousy judgement and probable envy of a talented singer whose voice, simplicity, charm and humor thrilled the world.

Too bad AH has only witless ridicule to offer. It’s not enough.

  14. Amanda’s gleeful and merciless attack on Susan Boyle on the Chatty Man Show - one she has referred to as an homage - is truly despicable. Her motivation is unknown to us. The effects of it and the furor over it is widespread and is not abating.
The cruelty and avarice of it is totally unacceptable to me and to many others. Ms. Holden has totally compromised herself as a judge of any competition in her display of what I have been made to view as her true colors (given these after the show antics). It would be my hope that Simon Cowell et al. will digest and take to heart what is said here and at other sites where this conversation has taken place. http://www.irishcentral.com and the Susan-Boyle.com forum thread “Amanda Holden and Allen Carr” are great places for not only them to start but for anyone who is a SusanFan who would like more on this topic. Everyone is welcome. Thanks.

  15. Amanda not only acted in an unprofessional way as a judge on BGT; she acted in such a cruel way, mocking and ridiculing Susan Boyle. And to make matters even worse, she seems to be gleeful about it.You sure went for the jugular, Amanda. I will never watch anything she is involved in - BGT or CBS Early Show. I never want to hear her utter Susan Boyle’s name again.

  16. If I were considering trying out as a contestant on BGT, I would certainly rethink it after watching what one of the judges is capable of. I abhor these shows which go for shock and call it “funny” on principle, but for Amanda Holden, a judge on the show where the person she so cruelly ridiculed appeared, to do this is beyond my comprehension, I don’t understand someone who is so determined to try to undermine and denigrate this lovely woman who only ever wanted to “become a professional singer”. Amanda knew about Susan’s remarkable courage and witnessed first hand her extraordinary talent. This is no doubt the reason she was willing to stoop so low. Susan has accomplished in less than 5 months what Amanda will never be able to do and she simply could not stand it. If her performance weren’t so hurtful and vile, I might pity her. As it is, I only find her to be pathetic and loathsome.

  17. Amanda, How horrible of you to do this to Susan. What has Susan ever done to you for you to treat her this way? Are you this jealous?

Not only are you a judge for BGT and she was a contestant on that show so there should be some ethic violation pertaining to what you have done. but, you are also a news person on one of the 3 top channels in America. This is supposed to be a respectable position. Who on earth would ever trust you to ever be fair?

you’re on your way out. Oh, and grow up. I was mortified and even embarrassed for you over your own behavior. You act like a very small child. Or maybe you are just mentally ill?

  18. Amanda ought to be ashamed of herself. What did Susan ever do to deserve that? Susan Boyle is responsible for Amanda’s career boost. And what does Amanda do? She ridicules Susan. No class. No character.

    Posted by ChrisK | August 20, 2009, 11:21 pm
  19. She did not do an impression of Lady Susan Boyle ,thank you very much. She did an impression of the hunchback of Notre Dame and called it Susan Boyle. Amanda is just jealous because she will never preempt the president of the USA for a primetime spot on TV like Lady Susan did. Amanda calls what she did paying homage! Wow and to think for the past 4 month the tabloids were paying homage to Susan….Go figure….and all that homage was just so wonderful for Susan that she couldn’t eat or sleep and almost quit the show, collapsed in exhaustion when it was over ….. who knew…homage is the new harrassment .

  20. What a tasteless, cringeworthy effort. Amanda takes backstabbing to new lows and shows her self-absorbed narcissism. She will only recover from this by being “punished” by losing work opportunites and any popularity she still has - and by apologizing genuinely and unreservedly. Time to establish some ethics to live by Amanda!

  21. Amanda, when and if you ever grow up, you just might understand how cruel and tasteless, not to say vile and evil your comments and behaviours on the Carr show are. Why post your dirty linen to the world? Until you grow up, you might better spend your time hibornating in a cave and overcoming your narcissism and jealousy. No matter how much nipping and tucking and pretending you do, you stand forth on the podium of ugliness. How I hope you don’t come to America.

  22. I am appalled at Amanda’s cruel, disgusting “impersonation” on the Alan Carr”Chatty Man” show. Certainly did not impersonate the Susan Boyle that I love and admire, in any way shape or form !!

The ethics of a judge toward a former contestant, in this “skit”, were deplorable, as is the fact that Amanda used Susan’ fame to further her career. What a stab in the back, vicious thing to do!!

Susan Boyle is a lovely lady, both inside and out, with an enormous amount of talent and millions of fans who love her !!!

Amanda, you don’t have any of those things!!!! You have shown that yourself !!!!

  23. Still keeping quiet? - or is that forked tongue having difficulty pronouncing “SORRY” ?

    Posted by Bob | August 21, 2009, 8:27 pm
  24. Amanda needs to look at herself first and not comment or judge someone who has hundred times more talent than she does. What goes around comes around. Susan became a international star faster than Amanda could EVER dream. So be it. She will have to answer for her actions in the long run. Amanda, be careful!

  25. I just saw the video concerning Amanda and “bullying”. As the British would say, what rubbish!!! She is the biggest hypocrite ever! I can’t believe I was fooled by her. I thought she seemed to genuine and nice! Now I know better.

  29. This is just stupid Amanda can do what she wants and if she has that opinion so what…
I understand that on live TV that was unacceptable but don’t you all think she has got it hard enough already !!

Amanda if Susan Boyal wanted to appear on TV then she needs to put up with opinions as for many people Amanda just did what people were thinking

However i think it is disgusting and ruining someone on live TV was appalling i wouldn’t even think about doing it ….
she wouldn’t like it would she …
    Childish but true
    Bad Bad Amanda

  30. Sarah, Um, I think that’s the point. She did it on TV.
She’s also a judge on the talent show that made a ton of money because of Susan Boyle. Money that paid that miserable creatures salary.
She also got a job in the US due to Susan.
You’re right, she has a right to her opinion, but why it is ok to say it?
Why is it acceptable to criticize anyone?
Do you still think what she did was ok?
    She’s trash.

  31. Amanda holden dresses like a prostitute and her behavouir is that of a scrubber.her one and only interest in life is her self.Cheating on her ex husband les dennis in 2003 in public walking around london, after marrying him only for his money. On BGT she makes sexual remarks to joung boys and degrading remarks to other contestants, and spends most of her time crawling around simon cowel.she,s a scrubber.

  32. Is this true? I mean Amanda has always loved Susan Boyle since her BGT stint. This is shocking.

  33. I’m sure it must be true since so many people seem to confirm it.It goes to show what a phony Amanda is. I hate the fact that she’s on American tv now. It makes me sick.
